I don’t think that you really realize how much a friendship is worth to someone until you move away.
Even though you see each other in classes every day, you start to realize that maybe the only reason you were friends was for a way to pass time. They don’t speak to you anymore and pretend that you aren’t there at all. It’s like you’ve become invisible.
Meanwhile, it’s the friends who are thousands of miles apart who communicate with you often and keep up with you, constantly checking to see if you’re okay or to see what’s up.
Even if you can’t hang out often, I think that this is what a true and worthwhile kind of friendship is. The kind that doesn’t let miles separate you.
